Conceptual Development

After starting off the concept process with by some competitor research of other similar events that have taken place, I decided to use accents of Gold and tones of black. Black to compliment the gold and make it stand out more, then pairing it with Christmas tree leaves and baubles to bring home the theme of Christmas.
After showing this to the client, they expressed that they were unhappy with this concept as it didn’t feel sexy enough.
The Final Design
After starting again, I recycled the idea of that baubles, and repurposed them, turning them in to golden orbs, the glitter of them still retaining a feeling of Christmas.
The background was changed from black to a black with a purple velvet overlay, echoing the feeling of smooth / sexiness. Velvet was also used in the foreground to help add the golden accents, for a further feeling of luxury, smoothness and sexiness.
To aim the flyer more at the desired audience, I used an image of a young attractive couple, dressed in the type of clothes expected for people to wear on the night, ‘grown and sexy’.
Swirls of fireworks were used to create a somewhat ‘S’ around the title of the piece.
After showing the new concept the client agreed on the direction, and thus spawned the final design.
